Part Number: 010-G500H-00
Engineered for safety and reliability in today’s helicopter environment, Garmin’s G500H dual-screen electronic flight display provides an affordable flight solution that meets the needs of the most demanding helicopter missions.

Visualize Better Situational Awareness

Dual 6.5-inch LCD screens, mounted side-by-side in a single bezel, put Primary Flight Display (PFD) and Multi-Function Display (MFD) capabilities right in front of you for easy scanning and interpretation. The PFD screen shows attitude, airspeed, altitude, climb rate and course/heading information — while the left side MFD provides detailed moving-map graphics depicting the helicopter’s current position in relation to ground features, chart data, navaids and flight plan routings. Both screens are Class B night vision goggle friendly for use with a wide array of optics.

Specially adapted to the needs of helicopter operators, Garmin’s HSVT™ (Helicopter Synthetic Vision Technology) brings a powerful graphical perspective to the G500H. Available as an option, HSVT can make a world of difference when visibility is less than ideal.

Using sophisticated computer modeling to recreate a virtual topographic landscape from the system’s terrain alerting database, HSVT gives you a clear depiction of ground and water features, airports, obstacles, traffic and more — all shown in 3-D perspective on the primary flight display. Garmin’s HSVT graphics look so real, it’s almost like having a clear-day “out-the-window” view of your flight situation — even in the darkest nighttime VFR or other low-visibility conditions.

Proven AHRS attitude/heading reference delivers high-precision spatial sensing for the G500H digital instrumentation — replacing old-style gyros and the benefits of greater situational awareness are yours.

Maintain Maximum Separation

When a GNS 430W or 530W series HTAWS (Helicopter Terrain Awareness and Warning System) navigator is installed and interfaced to the G500H, certified “forward looking” terrain avoidance (FLTA) capability is available which predicts in advance where potential hazards may exist. An HTAWS warning received from the GNS 430W or 530W Series navigator will be displayed as an annunciation to the left and aligned with the top of the Altitude Tape on the G500H PFD.

Plus, to help monitor your location on unfamiliar airports, your G500H comes with preloaded geo-referenced SafeTaxi® diagrams for over 900 U.S. airports. So does a trial version of Garmin FliteCharts®.

Enjoy Cockpit Flexibility

For added flexibility in the cockpit, the G500H can be purchased with the PFD on either the right or left side of the bezel for easy viewing depending on your pilot seat position.

Expand Your Capability

It's easy to combine the G500H with a variety of optional sensors and data links. Garmin’s GDL 69 series receiver offers weather alerting and NEXRAD coverage for the U.S. via XM® satellite datalink (XM subscription required). There’s also a user interface with the GDL 69A that lets you enjoy over 170 channels of XM Radio inflight programming.

In addition, a video input option lets the MFD function as a FLIR or other video source.¹

And for help in keeping an eye on other planes in your vicinity, you can access Traffic Information Service (TIS) alerts on your G500H, simply by adding a GTX 330 Mode S transponder. Or, you can select from available TAS and TCAS systems, including Garmin’s GTS™ family of advanced traffic surveillance products.

In today’s time-critical world, the ability to keep track of mobile assets and personnel has become a high priority for many people. To help helicopter operators meet this need, Garmin has developed the GSR 56, an Iridium-based satellite transceiver. Among other features, it provides an affordable, worldwide position tracking solution that enables aircraft location data to be monitored via a web-based display on authorized base-ops computers (subscription required).
